The Kinooni palace on Lamu island in East Africa was once a governor’s residence which built in the 18th century. The designer is obsessed with the limestone mud walls and architectural decoration details of the ancient palace, and launched a contemporary dialogue with the distant land on the woven carpets. He inspred by African tribal elements and colors, as well as traditional Swahili design and technology, giving the rugs and tapestries a new form and exotic style.
Enter the Jinoni Palace from a carpet base full of architectural carvings. The tapestries are painted with a small pool at the entrance of the mansion, and the tourmaline stone in the middle is the protective stone of the palace.
