Rooted in traditional Chinese culture, this stunning red carpet is inspired by the “Eight Treasure Map” found on many ancient porcelain pieces. The iconic imagery represents the longing for good health, auspiciousness, and wealth. Juju Wang, a Chinese-American installation artist, has chosen many objects that symbolize good fortune for this design: peach represents good luck, the chrysanthemum signifies auspicious longevity, and the two goldfish represent wealth and family togetherness. These elements selected by the artist have appeared in the interior decoration of traditional Chinese architecture in various forms, and have been widely recognized in Asian culture. She reinterpreted these elements with a simpler visual language, bringing a more contemporary look to this design.
This stunning carpet is part of our FULI ART collection. FULI is delighted to work with an exceptional group of Chinese and international artists to transform their ideas onto rugs and tapestries. We try to push the boundaries of the medium through an experimental approach in design and exquisite craftsmanship. Art can be functional and tactile. With this limited-edition collection of art carpets, we wish to invite you to touch, feel, and live with art, bringing new energy into your ever evolving homes.
